What an end to an awesome day, we started out early and were racing straight up. With many racers dealing with the wind of 40kmph and gusts, Learning the track with the quad ending gum tree gate, it was a track where you needed skill precision and also nerves of steel. All pilots today showed just that. Well done to everyone, the racing was fun also, We had to cross barb wire fence and fly over long grass with lots of horse droppings then hit the gum tree gate without exploding our quads then head back the field and straight into a slalom of flags.. Massive thanks to Daniel Jacobi for helping with the setup on saturday and packdown today, hope those 5 packs of props helped you keep in the air today.

Corey (Broken. FPV) had a loud noise come out of his quad and a puff of smoke and he came down like a brick with a burnt out motor. Hope you get that fixed and are back ripping it up in no time. Corey was able to knock 8 seconds off his lap time from the start of the day to the end of the day. Well done.
Lee was smashing out the lap times all day with consistent racing aswell with low 20's and aditya was only 0.02 seconds behind pinky, keeping pinky on his toes all day and pushing for more speed and tighter lines. Pinky held the track lap time record of 19.7seconds after a couple bad take offs and one resulting in him flipping over on take off, exploding a prop and almost cutting through both xt60 wires on his 6s quad, some electrical tape and new props and he was off again.
Go me lol 😂

Aditya brought out his DJI HD FPV system today and gave it a race against pinky and it was amazingly clear for racing with no interference and gopro like vision its a very impressive bit of kit. Thanks for showing that around to everyone.
Daniel was racing hard all day with his akira and was tearing up the sky when the worst happened and his camera almost ejected which forced him to land and get it fixed. He soon got it back up in no time with some mods but will need to do a few repairs when he gets home.

Joey and michael both tore it up too. Joey emptying lots of batteries and then michael joey corey and pinky had a micro race around the track with their micro alien 3" quads. Big massive thanks to michael for supplying the power to charge batteries all day long until packup at 3.30ish followed by a freestyle session with the remaining pilots.

We had so many spectators watching with goggles all around the model club, it was awesome to see everyone having a look at the racing, with visitors from overseas it was awesome to meet a fan and him have a fly around with us. Great to meet you Joel and thanks for coming mate.

SAAMBR and all their members was so nice and welcoming it was a very friendly bunch of guys and we highly recommend anyone that flys fixed wing or 3D planes to go and check them out and have a fly at one of their two fields. www.saambr.asn.au/

We are doing another event on the 25th of August so if your interested in getting involved. Leave a comment below or send us a message :)

Happy landings :D

A great day of flying yesterday. I did so many packs it was amazing. Having the new system in place worked wonders.
It was casual and efficient and everyone got times etc. Some fine tuning needed with the lap timer, but all in all a great day with awesome people and plenty of flights we had pilots turning to chargers to fly again..

Hope to see you all again on August 11th. At SAAMBR for some flying at the plane club.. Going to be an epic track there. Fun and adventurous :)

It seems some council workers can't read or are miss informed . We had an incident today with a council worker telling one of the BPF guys that council drone zones are for drones only and not for flying aircraft. He was mowing the grass runway we have at Carindale at the time of which we have permission to do so. please if this happens to you calmly walk them over to the sign and have them read it to you. it is all in the first 2 lines. Key words (Drones and other remotely piloted aircraft) ... See moreSee less
